September 1 is the return to in-person lessons after transitioning my studio online in March. Online lessons are still an option for those who have some background on the piano and feel more comfortable doing that.
In-Person Lesson Procedures
My studio has been modified to maintain health safety. This background picture is the new studio setup.
Masks are required for everyone as they enter (including myself). I will take temperatures using a non-touch forehead thermometer followed by hand sanitizer. Masks may or may not be required during the lesson at the discretion of myself and the student/parent.
My grand pianos have been socially distanced which allows me to teach a good distance from the student piano. Masks will be worn when I need to approach the student piano. A 15-minute break between students (excludes sibling lessons) allows me to sanitize surfaces; i.e., doors, doorknobs, piano keys and bench, restroom, etc. The student plus one parent may be present for the lesson unless arrangements are made with me in advance.
Online Lesson Procedures
Online lessons are on the Zoom platform and are only offered to those with some amount of piano knowledge or lessons in the past. I am not taking beginners online. Itemized instructions will be given to those interested in this option, e.g., electronics choice, computer connection, internet speeds, etc.
